Kerala Style Fish Biryani Recipe Ingredients
- Fish … 3-4 Pieces
- Rice … 1 kg
- Onions … 3
- Tomatoes … 3
- Chopped Coriander … 1/2 Cup
- Food Color … 1/2 Tsp
- GInger Paste … 1 tsp
- Garlic Paste … 1 tsp
- Mintleaves … Few
- Lemon … 4-5
- Turmeric Powder … 1/4 tsp
- Cloves … 3-4
- Cinnamon Stick … 2
- Oil … As per Requirement
- Salt … To Taste
- Red Chili Powder … 1 tbsp
- Green Chilies Paste … 1 tbsp
Kerala Style Fish Biryani Recipe Cooking Steps
Step 1: Wash fish with plain water carefully and take a shallow bowl or dish for marinating the fish. Apply all the ingredients that were for marination on fish pieces thoroughly. Then leave fish in refrigerator or room temperature for almost 30 minutes.
Step 2: Now, come to the cutting and chopping of raw ingredients. Chop down onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves into small pieces.
Step 3: After passing 30 minutes, take a frying pan and heat oil in it on normal flame. Put in marinated fish to fry and keep frying until it gets brown color. Keep fried fish in a separate plate.
Step 4: Then take a skillet and put water in it to boil rice. Bring a boil to water put in cloves and salt. After bringing another boil to water, put rice in it and cook it until rice get tendered. Drain the excess water.
Step 5: Moving further, we take another deep pan or skillet and heat oil in it. After that fry onions in it until they turns to golden brown. Take fried onions out of oil and place in a plate. Now put in garlic ginger paste and cook for 1 minute then green chilies paste along with all dry ingredients. Fry these ingredients well.
Step 6: At this step, we add fried fish and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on low flame. Fish masala is ready for layering.
Step 7: Final step is layering of rice and fish masala. Take another pan and heat 1 tbsp oil in it on low flame. Put one layer of rice and then sprinkle some food color then lemon juice and after that put a layer of fish masala over it. Repeat these steps until you are done with all the rice and masala. Garnish it with mint leaves and serve with Chatni.
