Afghani Pulao Ingredients

  • Rice … 1kg
  • Beef … 1kg ( Cut into Little Slices )
  • Onions … 2 Large ( Chopped )
  • Cumin Seeds … 1Tsp
  • Cloves … 1Tsp
  • Black Pepper … 1Tsp
  • Salt … Add According to Taste
  • Carrots … 2 Medium, Grated
  • Raisins … 1/2 Cup
  • Oil … 1/3 Cup

Afghani Pulao Cooking Steps

Step 1:

Heat oil in a pan and fry onion into it till golden brown.

Step 2:

Add beef and let it fry till color change.

Step 3:

Now add into beef water, salt, black pepper and cloves.

Step 4:

Dish out beef when tender and let the remaining paste be cooked.

Step 5:

Take a separate pan; heat a little amount of cooking oil into it and fry carrots into the oil until color changes.

Step 6:

Add raisins into the fried carrots and let them fry till pop up.

Step 7:

Boil rice into a deep pot and divide into two sections after draining.

Step 8:

Take an open mouth vessel and grease it with a little cooking oil. Make a layer of boiled rice into the bottom of the vessel.

Step 9:

Make a layer of half of the beef and cumin seeds on the rice layer.

Step 10:

Now make another layer with half of the carrot and raisins mixture; Spread over it the remaining half rice.

Step 11:

Place the last layer with remaining beef.

Step 12:

Place on Dum after covering thoroughly for 5to10 minutes.

Finally dish out the rice into a serving tray and spread over them the remaining mixture of raisins and carrots; serve.
