Afghan Whole Chicken Recipe Ingredients

  • Chicken, Whole … 1kg
  • Lime Juice … 2 tsp
  • Ginger Paste … 2 tsp
  • Heavy Cream … 3 tbsp
  • Garam Masala ( All Spice ) Powder … 1 tsp
  • Cashew Nut Paste … 3 tbsp
  • Freshly Ground Pepper … 3 tbsp
  • Vegetable Oil … 2 tbsp

Afghan Whole Chicken Recipe Cooking Steps

Step 1: First prick the chicken well with a fork so that the chicken can be marinated easily.

Step 2: In a bowl mix the lime juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, cashew nut paste, garam masala powder, black pepper and cream.

Step 3: Rub this mixture all over the chicken thoroughly.

Step 4: Then cover the chicken and let it rest it in the fridge for at least 3-4 hours. For best results, keep overnight.

Step 5: Preheat the oven or tandoor and place the chicken inside it. Grill for 25-30 minutes, turning sides every 5 minutes.

Step 6: After half an hour, the chicken will get a rich golden color.

Juicy Afghani roast is ready to eat. Serve with salad, raita and naan.
